I am lucky that my Mom is still alive. At some point that chair will only leave a mark that she was sitting in it…

This feels universal across many languages and in so many parts of the world. Thank you for sharing this, Andy. It’s beautiful to imagine your mother’s delight as she made decorations with her three sons each Christmas.

Felices fiestas to you and Rani, wherever you may be — may the season wrap you in gentle memory, love, and quiet joy.

Thank you for sharing those memories and feelings. It’s a reminder to me that old feelings, emotions, are sneaky, and waiting in the wings to pounce when I’m not paying attention. Practicing self awareness means I have less surprises, and know myself better, but sometimes I wake up with a knot in my stomach. The pounce. Today I embraced it, I loved it, I accepted it as something to notice and acknowledge and gently held it hand until it revealed its true nature. Anxiety about going to family Christmas. Not about NOW but about way back then. That’s what your story reminds me of - that now may always hold the anxiety of way back then and I can rewrite my response if I’m paying attention and showing my Self the love and nurturing it needs.

I’m writing this mostly for me, but also as a thank you to you, again. It doesn’t even need to make sense to anyone else. It only releases my stuff, relieves the burden of my child’s past so I can live in today.

❤️

Hi Andy, Merry Christmas with all the "feels". I especially loved this post because I learned more about the process of making the reindeer head, and how you were involved. We were the happy recipient of your mom's crafts, and are hanging them today!

You may not have a photo of Rudolph; I'm sending you one.💚

You have a new subscriber. Thank you for this. This feels uniquely human and exactly what I am looking to amplify in this crazy world of ours.
